It is interesting to note how trying a different range of lures at any given point in time can potentially increase our catch rates.
i tried this excercise whilst fishing the Snowy Mountains Lakes, and presenting an alluring lure type made all the difference.
I commenced my fishing expedition with a green/ black spotted Tassie Devil… with no success. Then I tried a purple/black striped tassie devil with exactly the same cast and retrieve tactics, with no success. Finally, used a straight pink tassie devil spinning lure, and OOH LA LA!….The result being a nice juicy fat Rainbow Trout for dinner that very same evening.
The lesson for the day is never stick with the one lure, as it largely depends on ‘THE ALLURE of the LURE’!…..
