OL SCHOOL FUEL PROBLEMS…..Todays submission primarily deals with Fuel Pump problems associated with Ol School Vehicles.
Ok, I know I am getting Old, but that being said, the Ol technology dies with me!
If anyone out there in cyberworld is talking my language, I’m a hearin ya…..
You see, right about now I am going to be sharing some choice info with you on what to do if you have broken down miles from anywhere due to no fuel pressure to your carburettor…..
There could be many reasons for this. Blocked suction line, blocked fuel filter. No fuel pressure on supply side running to carburettor.or faulty fuel pump.Whatever the reason, you don’t want to be performing time consuming work in sub zero temperatures, or extreme heat.
Always carry an approved fuel container with fuel resistant hose firmly clamped to bottom tap of container.
Mount Fuel Container firmly affixed to secure part of firewall of Engine Bay…Ensure Conainer sits higher than the carburettor so gravity fuel supply can be achieved.
Clamp other side of supply hose to inlet side of carby… open fuel tap, and bingo!..you have an instant fuel supply.
Hopefully this strategy will get you to the next town, or better still,,,,home!!!!
THE ABOVE PROCEDURE IS TO BE CARRIED OUT IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION ONLY, and BY THOSE WHO ARE SUITABLY QuALIFIED..
